Dia 1 de Fevereiro, 9-16h
Um dia para conhecer a vida na colmeia e perceber o que é que faz dela um bom habitat para abelhas. Vamos conhecer as substâncias de construção da colmeia (cera e própolis), apreciar a alquimia das abelhas para apoiar a sua saúde e bem estar delas e do sítio onde vivem. Uma pequena exposição de colmeias diferentes e uma visita a abelhas que vivem em cortiços horizontais na Natureza dará uma visão maior sobre as possibilidades concretas para criar colmeias adequadas para a nossa região.
Dia 2 de Fevereiro, 9-16h
Um dia prático de construção e instalação de um cortiço horizontal. Ao longo do dia, também falaremos sobre como escolher um bom sítio para instalar uma colmeia e como é que se pode preparar para a chegada das abelhas na Primavera.
Contribuição: Não sócios da RWSW: 160€ – com almoço incluído e documentação para levar para casa. Sócios e Amigos RWSW: 125€.

Workshop: Welcoming Honey Bees in Nature

February 1, 9am-4pm
A day dedicated to exploring life in honey bee hives and understanding what makes this habitat ideal for bees. We will learn about the materials used for construction in the hive (wax and propolis) and appreciate the alchemy of bees that contributes to their health and well-being, as well as to that of the environment they inhabit. There will be a small exhibition of different types of hives and a visit to horizontal cork hives located in nature, providing a broader perspective on the possibilities of creating hives suitable for our region.
February 2, 9am-4pm
A practical day focused on the construction and installation of a horizontal cork hive. Throughout the day, we will also discuss how to choose an appropriate location for hive installation and how to prepare for the arrival of bees in the spring.
Contribution: Non-members: €160 – includes lunch and informational materials to take home. Members and Friends of RWSW: 125€.

In early March, there will be an additional day (to be confirmed) complementing this workshop, focusing on swarming and how to prepare hives to attract swarms.
