BeeDay: Summer Stillness
Pausing with Free Living Bees
Join Annelieke and Ulrike in the Vale da Gema Watershed, Alentejo
As summer heat settles over the Alentejo, bees retreat into quiet efficiency, conserving energy and protecting their hive. We invite you for a day in communion with free-living bee colonies, learning from their seasonal rhythm of pause and preservation, opening ourselves for the wisdom of the hive.
This workshop blends silent observation with reflective practices and group sharing. Guided by Annelieke and Ulrike, we will use the stillness as a mirror for our own lives—learning from the bees about moving through personal or collective “dry seasons”. A practice of deep listening, resting, clearing, preparing ourselves for the time when waters start flowing again.
What to expect:
- Guided journeying and observation: getting acquainted with life in the hive in summer, practising intuition, attunement and widened awareness.
- Silent walk: visiting a colony living in a tree in the forest (be prepared to walk 2×20 minutes in warm weather conditions).
- Reflective practice: ample time with the bees, supported by suggestions for individual and collective exploration. Time for journaling and group sharing.
- Shared Lunch: Please bring a tasty contribution for a picnic in the shade of the olive grove.
Limited to 10 participants.
Contribution: €25–€35. Plus the food you bring for our shared lunch.
