Golden Honey
Since forever, honey has fascinated humanity with its evocation of joy, sweetness, and eroticism. Venerated for its physical and spiritual qualities, honey has accompanied human history since the dawn of time as a symbol of protection, of abundance, and of eternity.
Adaptogen
One of the numerous fascinating properties of honey is its adaptogenic quality. Honey is, in some way a living being in its own right, one who knows how to adapt to the needs of what it touches. For example, honey is both antiseptic, destroying pathogenic bacteria, and prebiotic, stimulating the growth of beneficial bacteria in the intestines. It cleans and nourishes simultaneously, dissolves and reassembles, inhales and exhales…
A Call for Responsibility
The general situation of the global honey industry reflects, in a conspicuous manner, the irresponsible phase that humanity is going through.
A large portion of the honey for sale through mass-market retailing – almost 2 millions tons per year – is adulterated. Conventional apiculture is made up of practices that are, much of the time, very disconnected from natural laws.
The quality of honey reflects the well being of the bees and the landscape. As caretakers of bees, co-creators of biodiversity, or conscious consumers, we can strengthen the field of responsible honey harvest and consumption.
Respectful Honey Harvest
A colony in good health is capable of producing more honey than she needs. When treated with reverence, a prosperous colony may offer part of her treasure with joy, in the same manner that healthy and balanced human beings like to offer their gifts to those around them. Prosperity and abundance go hand in hand. Honey is not something to take, but, rather, to receive – as an offering, with gratitude and with humility.
What Honey to Buy?
Honey is not to be consumed as a substitute for granulated sugar, but as a ‘heavenly gift’, delicate and precious. Therefore, those who love the bee will make of its consumption a conscious choice. If you decide to make this choice, we invite you to be discerning about the quality of this sweet offering and, as best as possible, to procure for yourself local honey that is raw (unpasteurised), unfiltered, and unadulterated, and which comes from wildflowers or organic crops.
Know, as well, that the enzymatic richness of honey, its vitamins and organic acids are extremely fragile and easily deteriorated by numerous factors, such as heat, exposure to light, contact with air or metal, electromagnetic waves, barcodes, and environmental stress.
